To the editor:

I applaud Justin Trudeau for his humanity and for including Canada in the Paris Climate Agreement and for also setting an example of how a dignified world leader should appropriately act when dealing with serious issues such as climate change.

The already implemented carbon taxation in accordance with the Paris Agreement has already garnered a fair amount of momentum to switch over to greener initiatives and reduce green house gases. This is a symbolic and inspiring step in the right direction with the unification of 195 countries rallying together towards a singular goal to reduce CO2 emissions and should be taken as nothing short of a significant victory.

Countries, most notably such as China and India, the countries with the largest amounts of greenhouse gas emissions have unified together with Europe, with China and France both poised to take the lead after the United States withdrawal. Itsa国际传媒檚 been inspiring to hear that Beijing believe in sa国际传媒渢he full implementation, without nuances, of the Paris climate agreement,sa国际传媒 and underlined that their can be sa国际传媒渘o backslidingsa国际传媒 on the pact. Similar remarks were echoed by the Indian government.

The world is shifting to a more ecological approach and it makes sense that Canada should continue to press for a leadership role on a global scale.
