Central Okanagan Search and Rescue (COSAR) were called out twice on Sunday, Sept. 15.

In the early morning, COSAR was called to help a group of students hiking and camping in Kelowna's backcountry as one of the students suffered an ankle injury. COSAR was called in as the student was unable to walk and the group wasn't close to their vehicles.

"A textbook rescue by the boat team quickly brought the injured party to safety," said COSAR on a social media post. "The hikers did an excellent job addressing and treating the injury and staying together until help arrived."

Later in the day, COSAR was called out to help three hikers on West Kelowna's Terrace Mountain. 

The group of three was heading up the mountain towards Christine Falls, but missed the turnoff. Because of this, they continued to try and hike to the location. During this, a member of the group also suffered an ankle injury. 

COSAR found the group, provided warm clothes and helped the injured person off the mountain.
