Easy on the hockey and a national team debut: Kelowna sports weekend preview

The Rockets and Chiefs both play in town on Saturday night

Theresa国际传媒檚 a lot less hockey going on but itsa国际传媒檚 still a full weekend for the Kelowna sports scene.

Kelowna Rockets

The Kelowna Rockets will be in tough on Saturday night as they look to bring their eight-game losing streak to an end.

On Nov. 17, the Rockets welcome the first place Prince George Cougars to Prospera Place. The Cougars are 14-6-0-0 on the year while the Rockets are now 7-11-2, sitting 10th in the Western Conference.

The last few weeks havensa国际传媒檛 been great for the Rockets as they havensa国际传媒檛 won since Oct. 25, when they beat Victoria 6-3. During the slide, they have been outscored 33-16.

So far in the season series, the Rockets are 1-2 against Prince George. The Rockets were victorious the last time these two teams met, winning 5-4 on Oct. 13.

Saturday nightsa国际传媒檚 puck drop is at 7:05 p.m. at Prospera Place.

West Kelowna Warriors

The West Kelowna Warriors donsa国际传媒檛 play this weekend as they are off until Wednesday, Nov. 22.

Kelowna Chiefs

The Chiefs are back on home ice this weekend as they welcome the Princeton Posse to Rutland Arena on Saturday night.

Last Friday, the Chiefs went to Princeton and lost 4-2. However, the Chiefs are coming off a 2-1 overtime win against Summerland on Tuesday night (Nov. 14).

Going into the weekend, the Chiefs are third in the Bill Ohlhausen Division with a 6-11-2 record while Princeton sits atop the division with a 12-3-0-0.

Saturdaysa国际传媒檚 puck drop is at 7 p.m.

UBCO Heat

The UBC Okanagan Heat volleyball teams are at home this weekend while the basketball teams are on the road down in Abbotsford.

Skeleton

Kelownasa国际传媒檚 Mackenzie Adams is taking part in her first skeleton race for the Canadian National team this weekend in Lake Placid, New York.

The 19-year-old is racing at the North American Cup, starting at 6 a.m. Pacific (9 a.m. Eastern).
