It was 30 years ago this month that Canadian singer-songwriter Leonard Cohen released his classic album, Isa国际传媒檓 Your Man. One of the albumsa国际传媒檚 highlights, Everybody Knows, has been variously described by critics as sa国际传媒渂itterly pessimisticsa国际传媒� yet funny, or, more strongly, sa国际传媒渁 bleak prophecy about the end of the world as we know it.sa国际传媒�
At the 2017 Juno gala dinner, son Adam Cohen recalled that his father sa国际传媒渨as one of the only people I know, who had the most absurd prediction that anybody in my midst would dare have: He predicted Donald Trump was going to be the president of the United States, which of course made us all laugh hysterically.sa国际传媒�
Leonard Cohen died Nov. 7, 2016 at age 82sa国际传媒攐ne day before Trump defeated Hillary Clinton in the U.S. presidential election.
I hope Leonard Cohen will be pleased with this slight rewrite of Everybody Knows:
