UPDATE: Major Crime Unit takes over investigation into missing B.C. men last seen in Ucluelet

The disappearance of Daniel Archbald and Ryan Daley has been deemed suspicious.

The has been deemed suspicious and the Vancouver Island Integrated Major Crime Unit has taken over the investigation.

sa国际传媒淲e ask anyone who has any information as to Daniel and Ryansa国际传媒檚 whereabouts or anyone who may have seen them or talked to them between May 13 to 16 to call police immediately,sa国际传媒漵aid Cpl. Madonna Saunderson through a news release published Wednesday. sa国际传媒淲e are continuing our investigation into Daniel and Ryansa国际传媒檚 disappearance and have no evidence to suggest that this case is linked to any other missing person investigation at this time.sa国际传媒

Police are asking anyone who may have any information about the two mensa国际传媒檚 whereabouts to contact the Major Crimes Unit at 250-380-6211 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.

sa国际传媒淎ny information, even if you think itsa国际传媒檚 too small, could be helpful,sa国际传媒 said Sgt. Steve Mancini of the Ucluelet RCMP.

Archbald, 37, and Daley, 43, were last seen leaving Uclueletsa国际传媒檚 inner boat basin on-foot on May 16. They had arrived in Ucluelet on May 13 after a roughly eight-week sailing trip from Panama.

sa国际传媒淪ince being reported missing, Ucluelet RCMP have pursued a number of investigative avenues in an effort to locate them. These efforts included a search of the area they were last seen by the local Search and Rescue team as well as an aerial search. Police have deemed their disappearance suspicious and the investigation has now been turned over to VIIMCU,sa国际传媒 Wednesdaysa国际传媒檚 release states.

Cameron said WISARsa国际传媒檚 roughly 30-member team put in about sa国际传媒850 volunteer hours,sa国际传媒 scouring areas up to 500 metres off Highway 4.

Security both men leaving Uclueletsa国际传媒檚 inner boat basin on-foot on May 16 and their vessel is still docked at the local dock where Ucluelet harbour manager Kevin Cortes was the last known person to see them.

Cortes told the Westerly News that Daley had paid for a monthsa国际传媒檚 worth of moorage before the two men departed.

sa国际传媒淸Daley] came into my office and asked what the amount was. He wasnsa国际传媒檛 sure before that if he wanted to stay a couple of days, but he decided to spend the month. I worked out the numbers for him. He left my office, came back with some cash, and paid me,sa国际传媒 Cortes said.

A has been set up for the missing men, and a account has already raised more than $18,000.
