Doug McCallumsa国际传媒檚 edited 911 call, roughly nine minutes long, to report an alleged hit-and-run in which he claimed a woman ran over his foot was played out in Surrey provincial court Tuesday (Nov. 1).

He told the dispatcher a driver sa国际传媒渏ust about hit me, actuallysa国际传媒 and sa国际传媒渟he ran over my leg and foot.sa国际传媒

He described the driver as sa国际传媒渇airly stockysa国际传媒 in her 60s.

The driver, Deborah Johnstone,

sa国际传媒淪hesa国际传媒檚 harassed me before,sa国际传媒 McCallum told the dispatcher. sa国际传媒淪he called me a piece of shit.sa国际传媒

Asked if he needed an ambulance, McCallum said he could drive with his right foot to hospital and that his left foot was sa国际传媒渧ery numb.sa国际传媒

The call was edited by the court to omit the former mayorsa国际传媒檚 personal information.

McCallum later told the Surrey RCMP during a 58-minute interview at the station that sa国际传媒渟he just floored it. I thought she was going to peel rubber.sa国际传媒

sa国际传媒淭hey came out of nowhere and just pinned me,sa国际传媒 he told the RCMP. sa国际传媒淟iterally just about pinned me.sa国际传媒

sa国际传媒淪he was screaming terrible stuff.sa国际传媒

He said the driver, who was sa国际传媒渨earing a white sa国际传媒楰eep the RCMP in Surreysa国际传媒 shirt,sa国际传媒 turned at him, ran over his foot sa国际传媒渁nd took offsa国际传媒 while sa国际传媒渟houting at the top of her lungs.sa国际传媒

McCallum told the police officer he went to Peace Arch Hospital and underwent seven X-rays which, he said, revealed soft tissue damage but no broken bones.

sa国际传媒淚t looked like she just purposely wanted to clip me,sa国际传媒 he said.

The former Surrey mayor is charged with one count of public mischief, stemming from an encounter on Sept. 4, 2021 between himself and a group of volunteers that was gathering petition signatures outside the South Point Save-On-Foods store in South Surrey for a referendum on the policing transition. McCallum is accused of misleading police with his complaint.

McCallum said he walked over to Keep the RCMP organizer Ivan Scott to complain.

The trial, set for seven days, continues.
