There will be more of an RCMP presence and police resources on Kelowna streets this summer.

sa国际传媒淵ou can expect to see an increased number of police officers on each watch, as deployed from other teams within our detachment,sa国际传媒� RCMP Supt. Kara Triance told council at its June 19 regular meeting.

The Integrated Crisis Response Team will remain staffed with four members along with a mental health and crisis nurse on two of those teams.

The Gang Enforcement Team will also operate in Kelowna and area throughout the summer.

sa国际传媒淵ou can expect an increase in BC Highway Patrol and traffic services resources on the roads,sa国际传媒� added Triance. sa国际传媒淭hey will be committed to assisting us with motor vehicle incidents that are serious in nature, taking that burden off our frontline response.sa国际传媒�

Triance told council there will be an expanded RCMP response throughout the city on Canada Day.

The RCMPsa国际传媒檚 provincial marine section will also continue enforcement on key weekends at marinas, boat launches and on Okanagan lakes.
