The fatal shooting of an Oliver man in his home remains unanswered as RCMP and family hope that time will have made people feel safer to come forward.
On June 13, 2020, 21-year-old Noah Hommel-Zakall was shot and killed in his home in the 6000-block of Sandpoint Drive in Oliver shortly before 11:30 p.m.
sa国际传媒淲ith the passage of time, it is hoped that someone who may not have been willing or able to talk to police four years ago, may now be in a better position to offer information,sa国际传媒� said Southeast District Major Crime Unit Staff Sgt. Jason Smart.
The RCMP is still looking for potential witnesses who may have information to assist investigators, including anyone who had contact or dealings with Noah in and around June 13, 2020.
The RCMP are also looking to identify a dark coloured, newer full-size pickup, with cab lights on the roof, that was seen in and around Sandpoint Drive leading up to the time of Noahsa国际传媒檚 death.

The home on Sandpoint Drive received a visit by Oliver RCMP just a month prior for an alleged assault, during which Hommel-Zakall was arrested but never charged.
Following that arrest, RCMP returned with a search warrant that resulted in the seizure of $14,915 in cash, according to the application to keep the cash made by the Director of Civil Forfeiture in November of 2020.
Also seized from Hommel-Zakall's bedroom according to the application were:
* 39.8 grams of powdered cocaine packaged in a manner consistent with trafficking,
* Five grams of crack cocaine packaged in a manner consistent with trafficking,
* 282 grams of illicit concentrated cannabis packaged in a manner consistent with trafficking.
* 84 grams of illicit cannabis packaged in a manner consistent with trafficking;
* 100.3 grams of an unknown white powdery substance packaged in a manner consistent with trafficking;
* A weigh scale with drug residue;
* Drug packaging material;
* A cellphone;
* A loaded, restricted firearm with no serial number hidden under the bed
* Ammunition;
* Several knives;
* Brass knuckles;
* The safe that contained the cash and Hommel-Zakall's birth certificate
* Another safe
No charges were laid over the possession of the drugs or the firearm prior to Hommel-Zakall's death.
The application was filed to Hommel-Zakall's mother and his estate to keep the cash and was granted when no response was filed. It does not state what happened to the drugs or other items found during the search.
