Salgado says that he had just finished auditioning for sa¹ú¼Ê´«Ã½˜American Idolsa¹ú¼Ê´«Ã½™, when the opportunity arose.
sa¹ú¼Ê´«Ã½˜Itsa¹ú¼Ê´«Ã½™s interesting because at the time I just came off of auditioning for American Idol and that didnsa¹ú¼Ê´«Ã½™t really go my way at the time, I think that was a huge turning point for me because I realized, itsa¹ú¼Ê´«Ã½™s not that I wasnsa¹ú¼Ê´«Ã½™t vocally ready, it was just not the right time in that moment.sa¹ú¼Ê´«Ã½™
The only person in British Columbia to make it as a finalist, Salgado talks about the talented people in and around Nanaimo on Vancouver Island.
sa¹ú¼Ê´«Ã½˜Itsa¹ú¼Ê´«Ã½™s just crazy. Theresa¹ú¼Ê´«Ã½™s so much talent in Nanaimo and itsa¹ú¼Ê´«Ã½™s really cool to see people just being able to share their gifts with our community and being able to share that on a world platform. Theresa¹ú¼Ê´«Ã½™s just so much talent. Isa¹ú¼Ê´«Ã½™m not surprised, but Isa¹ú¼Ê´«Ã½™m also just so happy that wesa¹ú¼Ê´«Ã½™ve been able to represent well with music and with the arts.sa¹ú¼Ê´«Ã½™
