Pigeon Creek wildfire near Peachland remains steady

A wildfire burning near Peachland remains about the same size on the morning of June 7 as the night before, but is still deemed by BC Wildfire Service as sa国际传媒極ut of Controlsa国际传媒.

A rep from the service told Capital News that the Pigeon Creek fire situation in the area is sa国际传媒減retty much the same as yesterdaysa国际传媒, and that there are 60 personnel dispatched to battle the blaze today. A wet line is currently being established.

It is still at 33 hectares, with minimal growth since June 5.

Helicopters and skimmers are assisting the ground crew. Smoke can still be seen from Hwy. 97C, though there is no immediate danger to travel on the highway.
