At least two places in the Penticton area will have New Yearsa国际传媒檚 Eve fireworks to celebrate the start of 2024.

Itsa国际传媒檚 almost time to ring in the new year and the Penticton Lakeside Resort isnsa国际传媒檛 going to let the occasion pass without making some noise.

The downtown resort is inviting the community to celebrate New Yearsa国际传媒檚 2024 near Okanagan Lake, capped off by a special fireworks show.

When the clock says midnight on Jan. 1, the annual show will begin above the lake.

Apex Mountain Resort is having not one but two firework shows.

The first fireworks show is at 6 p.m. and then the next one is at midnight. Both shows are onthe Okanagan Run. Gunbarrel Saloon is hosting its annual New Yearsa国际传媒檚 party but it is sold out.

Go Skating

Families lace up their skates at the private outdoor skating rink at the back of the resort. There will also be holiday-themed parties at the Barking Parrot and Hooded Merganser. Skating will run from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. on New Yearsa国际传媒檚 Eve.

The outdoor skating rink beside Gyro Park is also open tonight until 9 p.m.

Live Music

The Hub on Martin has champagne, appys and the live sounds of CRUSH XO until 1 a.m.

Comedy

Train Wreck Comedy is pulling into the New Yearsa国际传媒檚 station with a night of laughter in Penticton.

Taking the stage at Highway 97 Brewing will be Kate Belton and the legendary sa国际传媒淗arley Guysa国际传媒 Herb Dixon.

Free Transit

Heading downtown on New Yearsa国际传媒檚 Eve? The City is offering a free shuttle service in Penticton through BC Transit on Dec. 31. Also the #15 Night Route bus will run until 2:30 a.m. The free shuttle service starts at 7 p.m. and will run until 1:59 a.m. This bus will run primarily along Main Street and Skaha Lake Road, also covering Westminster Avenue, Burnaby Avenue and Lakeshore Drive.
