A dog has died after a house caught fire in West Kelowna Wednesday evening.

The blaze started just after 6 p.m. and was witnesses say it was already fully involved when firefighters got to the home on Westside Road in Tradersa国际传媒檚 Cove.

Wilson Landing Fire chief Don Bennison said it was a stubborn fire, but that crews got the job done.

sa国际传媒淔lames were stubborn on the roof, but we kept putting water on it,sa国际传媒� said Bennison. sa国际传媒淚t went out late, there werensa国际传媒檛 any issues, and the investigation is getting going.sa国际传媒�

Bennison said that the residentsa国际传媒檚 pet dog may have been lost in the fire, and they wonsa国际传媒檛 know the cause of the fire until the investigation is completed.

The home was largely destroyed by the blaze.

Large fire on the east side of Okanagan Lake, Wilsons Landing. Please stay clear of that area so the crews can access it.
