Addition gutted, home largely undamaged after fire in Olalla

The fire also posed a threat to other nearby homes

A fire gutted an addition and left the attached home with severe smoke damage in Olalla on Feb. 13.

The mobile home fire was reported around 2 p.m., and by the time the fire was fully brought under control, the addition had been burned completely through.

The efforts of local firefighters were able to keep the damage largely limited to the addition.

sa国际传媒淲e had a good quick response which kept it from spreading into the main house and nearby structures,sa国际传媒 said Keremeos Fire Chief Jordy Bosscha.

The cause of the fire, located at Highway 3A and Main in Olalla, remains under investigation.

14 firefighters were on scene for about three hours.

The occupants of the property werensa国际传媒檛 home at the time, and no injuries were reported.

FortisBC, RCMP and BC Emergency Health Services also responded to the fire.
