Smoke was seen rising from the Rutland area shortly before 9 p.m. Flames were reportedly visible from as far away as Black Mountain.
According witnesses a shed at a property on Gerstmar Road was seen ablaze, and flames were reportdly spreading across the grass.
The Kelowna Fire Department is on scene.
It is unclear if the fire has spread to any other nearby structures.
