Provincial grant to help build up districts in Central Okanagan

The grant comes from the Local Government Development Approvals Program

The districts of Lake Country and Peachland are getting a boost from the province to create a more efficient development process. 

The Local Government Development Approvals Program was created to assist municipalities in developing innovative ways to support non-profit housing organizations, developers and stakeholders speed up the delivery of homes. 

sa国际传媒淥ur province continues to grow with more people than ever before choosing to call B.C. home,sa国际传媒 said Anne Kang, Minister of Municipal Affairs. sa国际传媒淲esa国际传媒檙e continuing to support local governmentssa国际传媒 ability to move forward with housing, and this grant funding will help new homes get built faster and more efficiently throughout the province for many years to come.sa国际传媒

Lake Country is set to receive $145,000 and Peachland will get $150,000. 

Peachland plans to use the grant to initiate a development-approval streamlining project to improve the current process and coordinate with neighbouring municipalities to increase consistency. 

A total of 38 B.C. communities were given a grant.
