The Nicola Valley Hospital and Health Centre has temporarily closed its emergency department.
Emergency closed at 6 a.m. today, July 21, and will not reopen to patients until 8 a.m. on July 22.
Interior Health said the closure is due to limited physician availability.
Merritt and area residents should travel to Kamloops for emergency care at Royal Inland Hospital if they require it.
People who need life-threatening emergency care should call 911.
