A Mobi-mat was installed at Whiskey Cove Park in Lake Country.

Whiskey Cove Park in Lake Country has seen some improvements over the years to make the spot more enjoyable for locals and tourists.

The latest of those improvements was a Mobi-mat installed in June.

A Mobi-mat is a non-slip walkway made of recycled materials allowing for easier access to the beach and water.

"The completion of the Whiskey Cove improvements, plus the addition of a demarked swim area and relocation of the swim raft at Gable Beach, answer the need for more and better beach access, as identified by our 2019 survey of Carrsa国际传媒檚 Landing residents and visitors.  The collaboration with District staff on these is much appreciated,sa国际传媒 said Julie Halfnights, chairperson of Carrsa国际传媒檚 Landing Community & Recreation Association.

The mat is expected to improve access for wagons and strollers. Persons in wheelchairs can also make use of the mat, however, it is recommended they have assistance due to the grade and the uneven ground.

Shade covers have also been installed over two of the three picnic tables. The tables were retrofitted last year to allow for wheelchairs, walkers, and strollers to be brought right up to the table.
