Kelowna crews called for boat rescue near Rattlesnake Island

It is unknown if there were people on the boat when it took on water

Kelowna fire crews were called in for a boat rescue on Aug. 5, 2024 just north of Rattlesnake Island.

The Kelowna Fire Department has been dispatched to Okanagan Lake for a boat rescue just north of Rattlesnake Island.

The call came in around 9:40 a.m. for a 20 to 30 foot white boat sitting vertically in the water. 

It is not known if there were people on the boat at the time it capsized. 

The story will be updated when more information is available.
