Grass fire in Lake Country considered 'held'

The fire is near Pow Road and Okanagan Centre Road West

BC Wildfire Service has reclassified a grass fire in Lake Country to being held. 

The fire is not expected to grow past its current size of 0.71 hectares. 

Original 8:20 p.m.

Lake Country Fire Department is fighting a grass fire near Pow Road and Okanagan Centre Road West. 

The blaze is estimated to be 0.71 hectares in size and is categorized as out of control on the BC Wildfire Dashboard. 

The public is being asked to avoid the area. 

This wildfire is suspected to be human-caused.
