'A difficult decision': Okanagan outreach group shuts down

Financial challenges have forced H.O.P.E Outreach to close

Several programs that operated in Kelowna and Vernon by H.O.P.E. Outreach have shut down due to financial challenges.

H.O.P.E. Outreach, a non-profit group dedicated to supporting vulnerable women, has ceased operations due to financial challenges.

The organization provided services in Kelowna and Vernon including night time outreach, harm reduction, education, events and volunteer opportunities, an anti-overdose program and mensa国际传媒檚 outreach.

Most of the programs shut down on June 7, but a post on the H.O.P.E. Facebook pages is hopeful other community groups will take them over. 

H.O.P.Esa国际传媒檚 bad date reporting program and 24/7 hot line, will continue.

sa国际传媒淭hank you everyone for your heart felt messages this has been a very difficult decision to make and one that was not made lightly,sa国际传媒 the Facebook post reads. 

It also states that the board of directors spent more than 12 months trying to ensure the programs could continue, but financial challenges proved too much to overcome.
