Von Schweets suffered the damages on Dec. 20

If yousa¹ú¼Ê´«Ã½™ve noticed a downtown candy store looks to be lacking its sweet treats, donsa¹ú¼Ê´«Ã½™t worry, the closure is temporary.

On Dec. 20, someone broke into the candy store Von Schweets (located at 539 Bernard Avenue) and reportedly set a fire inside the shop.

While a video, posted to Facebook, shows a broken window and some burn marks to the interior, the store remains closed because of smoke damage to the building.

Store employees have finished boxing up products affected by the smoke and have begun surface cleaning.
