Brush fire in north Kelowna extinguished

The fire is located in the brush off MacKenzie Road and multiple firetrucks are on scene

UPDATE 10:45 a.m.:

The brush fire off MacKenzie Road in north Kelowna has been knocked down. 

Two additional firetrucks responded to the scene, with five total on hand as the fire was brought under control. 

Mop of the fire is currently underway. 

It is not currently known what caused the fire. 

ORIGINAL STORY:

A fire in the brush off the side of a road in North Kelowna is being made more challenging by windy conditions. 

Crews responded just before 10 a.m., to the fire on MacKenzie Road near McCurdy Road. 

Three firetrucks are currently on scene battling the blaze.

MacKenzie Road is currently closed to traffic.
