A new federal government is expected to be named Monday night, as Canadasa¹ú¼Ê´«Ã½™s 2019 general election gets underway.
The main parties vying for the 338 seats in the House of Commons are Justin Trudeausa¹ú¼Ê´«Ã½™s Liberals, Andrew Scheersa¹ú¼Ê´«Ã½™s Conservatives, Jagmeet Singhsa¹ú¼Ê´«Ã½™s New Democrats, and Elizabeth Maysa¹ú¼Ê´«Ã½™s Greens. The Peoplesa¹ú¼Ê´«Ã½™s Party of Canada, under former high-profile Tory Maxime Bernier, is running for the first time.

Six candidates are vying to be MP for Central Okanagan-Similkameen-Nicola. Conservative Dan Albas has been leading the pack throughout the campaign and has been through most of it. Also running is Liberal Mary Ann Murphy, the Green Partysa¹ú¼Ê´«Ã½™s Robert Mellalieu, the NDPsa¹ú¼Ê´«Ã½™s Joan Phillip, the Peoplesa¹ú¼Ê´«Ã½™s Party of Canadasa¹ú¼Ê´«Ã½™s Allan Duncan and Libertarian Party candidate Jesse Regier.
