Jane Newell, along with five other Central Okanagan students, will be spending their spring break on a construction site.

Instead of spending their spring break lounging around, six students and four teachers are travelling to El Salvador in Central America to build a home for a family in need.

Newell has dreamed about the experience since she was in kindergarten.

She covered her hand over her heart, saying it means a lot to her seeing how enthusiastic the students are about the trip.

The students will be working with Habitat for Humanity Global Village.
