Regional District's deadline for dog licences fast approaching

Thousands of dog owners have already renewed using the convenient and secure www.regionaldistrict.com/doglicence online program

The countdown is on for Central Okanagan dog owners to renew their dog licence for 2016.

Monday, Feb. 29 is the last day they can renew for the annual licence fee of $20 for a dog thatsa国际传媒檚 spayed or neutered or $60 if it isnsa国际传媒檛.  Starting March 1st, all renewals will have a $20 late fee added.  As well, owners could be faced with a $300 fine for not having a valid licence.

sa国际传媒淩enewing online allows dog owners to log in using their account number and access code thatsa国际传媒檚 on the renewal notice mailed to them in early January," said Communications Officer Bruce Smith.

"Or they can register for an account with our Virtual District Office and follow the instructions to complete the payment transaction. With your online access, you can update your contact information and check the status of your licence account at any time.  And for those who havensa国际传媒檛 already, they can also purchase a new licence for their pet.sa国际传媒

One of the  benefits for keeping a dog licence valid is the My Dog Matters Rewards program.   In the past two months, eight new businesses have joined. Information about them and the other 51 participating businesses is available on the www.mydogmatters.ca website.   The only way to receive the special discounts and services is to show the My Dog Matters Rewards card.  And the only way to get a card is to licence your dog.sa国际传媒

Dog owners can also renew their licence in person by taking the renewal notice to the Regional Districtsa国际传媒檚 office (1450 KLO Road), the Regional Dog Pound (890 Weddell Place), any local government office or the Kelowna branch of the SPCA.
