Menopause The Musical is recognized at the longest-running musical comedy to ever play in Las Vegas continuously.

After more than two years, the hit musical, Menopause, will be making its triumphant return to B.C.

The nine-city tour kicks off in Cranbrook on Sunday, Sept. 29, before heading to Vernon on Tuesday, Oct. 1 and Kelowna on Thursday, Oct. 3.

The show, a blend of comedy and 70s music, is set in a department store, where four women meet by chance while shopping for a black lace bra.

"After noticing unmistakable similarities with one another, the female, All-Star Canadian cast, jokes about their woeful hot flashes, mood swings, wrinkles, weight gain, memory loss, too much sex, not enough sex and more," said producer Mark Zimmerman. "These 4 women form a sisterhood and a special bond with audiences as they rejoice in celebrating that Menopause is not the Silent Passage anymore.

The 90-minute production originally debuted in 2005, and has since evolved into a grassroots movement for women dealing with life's aging process, especially after 40.

"At it's core, it's really about femal empowerment," said Zimmerman. "So cheer, dance and sing along to chart topping hits, that feature new, tongue in cheek, brilliantly funny lyrics."

To purchase tickets, visit  Cranbrook's show will be at the Key City Theatre, with Vernon's at the VPAC and Kelowna at their Community Theatre.

Chilliwack, Mission, Duncan, Courtenay and Victoria will also be hosting the musical.
